5-Minute Craft: DIY Sparkly Candles

Calling all cheapskates: you know those glittery candles that attract your magpie fancy? Stop drooling over the Crate & Barrel catalog--you can make 'em yourself for just a few bucks. Give dollar store candles a festive makeover in seconds flat.

You'll need:

  • table salt, granulated sugar, or glitter
  • colored candles
  • Rubber Cement glue
  • paper or parchment
Make it:
  1. Spread the salt, sugar, or glitter onto a piece of paper or parchment.
  2. Cover the candle with glue.
  3. Before the glue dries, roll the candle through the salt, sugar, or parchment, coating all sides evenly.
Before you know it, your apartment will be merry and bright.
