I've always been a sucker for the change of seasons. (Case in point: this photo of me toddling around the pumpkin patch.)
Though I can now tie my own shoes (bye-bye, velcro), little else has changed. I'm still head-over-heels in love with the sights, smells, and tastes of fall (I'm lookin' at you, cider donuts). After spending a lovely weekend at cider mills and farms around metro Detroit, the steel landscape of NYC seemed like a rude awakening. My solution: channel the changing leaves with fresh-cut flowers.
This fiery combo of an orange dahlia and red ranunculus reminds me of falling maple leaves.
Another option: pot hardy mums in a hollowed-out pumpkin!
