Forget drought-loving cacti: faux foliage is the ultimate low-maintence plant. Unfortunately, silk petals often channel frumpy, musty arrangements. Yuck. But it's definitely possible to use fake flowers or plants in awesome craft projects. Check out these fun options:
Surface Level
Protect your table in style with these simple moss coasters from Sincerely, Kinsey. You just need moss mat (try Jamali Garden), cork coasters, Mod Podge, scissors, and a paintbrush. Spread a layer of Mod Podge on the coaster, press on the moss mat, and then trim with scissors when dry.
Hang Up
As a budget-concious bride-to-be, I'm always on the hunt for cheapie decor shortcuts for the big day. We're having a fairly casual outdoor bash and I'm hoping to save dough by not splurging on fresh flowers. This cheery string of silk daisies is a great alternative! (And, at $6 a strand, I can afford to buy a bunch.) You can also add an elegant DIY touch by removing the center from silk flowers and placing them onto a strand of holiday lights. Head over to Martha Stewart for a tutorial.
Branch Out
Country Living printed a lovely how-to for these printed coasters, but I think they'd also look great as mounted wall art (why cover up such a cute stamp?). Just attach a piece of wire to the back and affix to a nail. Another tip: you don't have to wield a saw. Just buy pre-cut wood (I found some at Fishs Eddy).
