Flea Market Finds
I live in Brooklyn, where thrifting doesn't mean cheap--people flock to the city's markets to score artisanal goods, not steals. So whenever I take a vacation, I keep my eyes peeled for serious yard sales. On a recent trip to Canada, I hit the motherlode. In front of a barn filled with chicken coops, I stumbled across piles of intricately detailed plates--selling for a whopping $0.10 each. They make great saucers for my plants, and remind me of the wonderful trip, which was filled with farms, diners, and beachside bonfires. Now that's a good deal.
