Flea Market Find: Mysterious Tin Container

Repurposed tins make great plant containers. I recently combined some fluffy pink carnations in a postcard box. Then, while antiquing last weekend, I stumbled upon another tin that I couldn't resist adding to my collection.

It's marked "Baret Ware Art Grace Container, Made in England" and emblazoned with portraits of pseudo-Victorian figures and flowers. I scored it for $5. Once I brought it home, I tried to dig up some facts about the maker. No luck. The brand seems to have a strong presence on ebay and Etsy, but there's not a lot of info about the history of the objects. Any leads? I'd love to learn more about the tin: did it contain tea or biscuits, or was it always a decorative object? Did I pay too much, or should this handsome little guy have fetched a higher sum?
