Travel Diary: Burlington
Looking for a wallet-friendly weekend escape from NYC? If you can brave the soul-crushing horror of the Megabus (gridlock traffic, nose-withering bathroom stink wafting throughout the vehicle, the guy behind you gnawing on some beef jerky for the entire ride), I highly recommend a jaunt to Burlington, VT! The panoramic views of the Adirondacks are pretty spectacular. We scored round-trip tickets for $6 per person. This town, nestled among the mountains and Lake Champlain, is totally worth the trip. Just take a gander at this inlet we stumbled upon while strolling on the beach. Stock up on some dramamine and get on the bus. (Also, there's fudge, and this hostel has waffles!)
