5-Minute Craft: Jar Lids

Sometimes a gal just wants to make something in a hurry. No fancy tools, no laundry list of steps. In my new column, "5-Minute Craft," I'll show you some cool ways to get your craft on in a jiffy. This time: decorative jar lids.

Add a little homemade flair to your go-to baking supplies with a decorative jar lid. This one is really blink-and-you'll-miss-it quick.

You'll need:

  • pretty paper (I downloaded these patterns from lovelydesign)
  • a foam brush
  • Mod Podge
  • scissors
  • a pencil
  • jars with lids (like Kerr or Ball brands)
Make it:
  1. Unscrew the lid and use it to trace a circle on the paper.
  2. Cut out the circle.
  3. Use the foam brush to dab a bit of Mod Podge on the top of the lid. Press the paper down on top of it, and use the handle of the brush to smooth down air bubbles.
  4. Apply two coats of Mod Podge to the top of the paper.
  5. Let dry fully before you screw on the lid.
